The painters have been and gone

We have been thinking about getting some feature walls painted for a long time now. I know they are very 2005, and so yesterday, but I love the splash of colour they offer.

Donna helped me pick the colours one day whilst the kids were asleep and we roamed the house picking colours for walls. We did have a few more planned but my husband canned the rest!

I took the before photos just as they were unpacking the truck, so I had already moved a lot of the stuff out of the way (eg, the sewing room, which is why the before photo looks odd).

Here is the rumpus room:

And the sewing room! (Which is so messy and overdue for a big tidy-up, please excuse it!)

We also did the lounge room, the wall around the window, the same light blue as the small wall in the bedroom. Spur of the moment decision, but looks fab. Will wait until I put the curtains back up before I photograph or all you will see is the fence!

Keep in mind that the rooms look darker because the sun has moved during the day. I should try taking the photos again at the same time tomorrow morning for a true comparison.

I love the results, even if they may take a bit of getting used to!

The walls look spectacular. I can’t wait to see the words and the mirror and the shelf up on that pink wall. You must be so happy with it. And I think that picking the second blue was a great choice. Which loungeroom got the blue? the stairwell side or the other? It all looks great. Wish I was there to see it.

Yes, lots to to do in that sewing room now! Just have to wait a week or so for the paint to totally dry and then Dad and I will be in there drilling away.

The stairwell side got the blue. Did I ever show you the ‘inspiration room’ that I found in a magazine that decided what to do with that room?

House looks fantastic – particularly the red wall in the lounge room. Do you want to come & do my house now?

And how come it is so tidy when you’ve got a 2 year old. Now I’m really jealous!

All I did was pick the toys off the floor – the other corner of the room you can’t see? Bedlam!
