Hello world!
July 4, 2006 at 11:45 pm | In Baby Quilts, General Sewing, Large Quilts, Miscellaneous | Leave a CommentAfter receiving a much-wanted sewing machine for my birthday in April, I have found a whole new world of craft, mostly through the internet, and it is such an inspiring place to discover.
Inspired by my very good friend Donna, here is my own contribution to the world of craft bloggy-goodness.
Might be handy to keep control of my large pile of works-in-progress. Because if I blog about it, then I have to finish it, yeah?
I am currently working on:
- ‘Craig’s Quilt’ – a lap-sized quilt using the yellow-brick road pattern with RJR’s Summer Dayz fabrics. This is almost ready to go to the machine quilter (I just have to sew the backing to size). It’s for my husband to keep warm on the lounge during these cold winter nights watching football at odd hours. (OK, so it won’t be finished by the end of the World Cup, but there is still the entire test rugby season to come).
- ‘Henry’s Practice Quilt’ - a bigger than normal baby quilt, my first quilt, really just a practice one. I used an Animal Crazee charm pack, and sewed large triangles into squares. There must be a technical term for this, but, as a novice I have no idea what it is! The centre of the top is finished – it is waiting patiently for borders.

- ‘Henry’s Door Hanging’ - purchased from Hot Possum at the Craft and Quilt fair. I am ready to blanket stitch the pieces to the backing, just need to select the right colours. Henry loves cars.
- ‘Henry’s cushion” – material purchased from Prints Charming at the Craft and Quilt Fair, featuring a rocket print.
I’m embarrassed to keep going. I do have more works-in-progress, but I might keep those for another post.
Coming up soon, some of my recently finished projects. I know – you are surprised such things exist, aren’t you?
Are you wondering who Henry is? Check out the little man at Henry Days.

excellent effort. Both blogs look great. It took me ages to pick which theme I wanted. Then I wanted to have the same for both the family and the craft. There are a couple that you can change the header with a pic of your own. I just tried each one out until I found the one I wanted. try them all too becasue some look so much better than the small display picture.
What is the meaning behind the name?
and definately blogging about your projets keeps you very motivated!!!
